About us
Our story began in Summer 2025, when José Maria C. da Silva, a Professor of Geography and Sustainable Development at the University of Miami, asked Winston Thayer and Sam Velez, two exceptionally talented young musicians from the Frost School of Music, to turn his stories and thoughts into songs.
His request was simple:
Please, enchant me
Please be so kind
Please create a song
with what's in my mind.
That request inspired one of the songs of the project: Please, Enchant Me
And that is how Song Experiments was born — a project where inter-generational partnership turns stories of people, nature, and societies into music.
